howdy.
I have a 2003 quad cab with the stock stereo..am/fm cd. I also have a sony minidisc player that I'd like to play thru my head unit. Does anyone know if the stock stereo for that year has a "line in" hole in the back? If it does, I can just hook a line in there and leave it dangling when I'm not using my minidisc. If not, I guess I have to buy a new head unit.

thanks for any help

Check out PIE (www.pie.net). They have quite a line of audio gear that attaches to the stock head units via the aux input (the one used for the optional CD changer). They have a unit that you can use to plug *any* audio device having a 1/8" stereo jack. Your minidisk player would be one of them. They also have iPod integration units that will connect an iPod, *and* let you control it through your stereo controls.

thanks for the info. What is the part number of the product you are talking about? The website is rather large and I am a self-professed idiot. But I'd still like to know if that stock stereo has a line-in jack in the back.

If your stereo has provisions for attching/controling the 10-disc CD changer DCX will sell you, then yes you are in luck. It's more than a line-in jack, it's a ten pin connector that provides the interface.

To add an iPod the CHRY02/PC-POD part looks like what you need.

The interface for a non-iPod audio device you'd go with CHRY02-AUX.

Go to PIE's website and search through the retailers they point you towards. Their on-line product catalog doesn't look as complete as I remember.
