I have a 97 dakota sport. My rear speaks don't work. I have a new deck and all, but still nothing. They haven't worked in the last year I have owned this. Anyway, my ? is, how difficult is it to run new speaker wire from speakers to deck?

I just bought a 97 dakota with extended cab. I did not get any sound. I had the radio checked out and it works fine. Then I found that three of the four speakers are bad, what could have caused this? I bought 4 new speakers, after installing them I found that the drivers side door speaker will not work. How can I trace the problem? Does anyone have a schematic for the radio system? The radio and speakers are stock.

Thanks Bob

All I did is run new speaker wire! As far as I know, the speaker wires go from behind the deck, then to the passenger side. There it is hooked up to what seems to be a small amplifier.(maybe check this?) From there it goes all the way to the Drivers side up the pillar, over the door ( under the head liner ) and down the the driver side speaker and across the cab to the passenger side speak. It was very easy to rerun the wire. I eliminated the factory amp. I ran wires from the reciver directly to the speaker. Maybe an hour it took me! Good luck!
