Subject: Take out back seat for subs?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi, i have an 04 Quad Cab and am facing the almighty dillema of where to put my subs. I was just wondering if anyone has ever taken out the back 40 portion of the 60/40 bench, the part behind the drivers seat. I dont see why it would be too difficuclt or not work, just thought id see if anyone here had any insight! This seems to me like a good way to handle the problem, i can afford to lose one of the seats, and it could easily be returned back to stock while still providing tons of room!?

Thanks guys!

Sure, take the 4 nuts off the seat bracket and out it comes. I recall hearing one person who had done that. Personally, I need the room, so that wasn't an option.

It should look OK since the area behind the seat is upholstered. The seat bolts will stick up though.

there are enclosures that will fit behind the seat for (i think) up to 12" subs.

or you can take that seat out and mount it there but, it would be much easier to see and therefore steal!

outta sight, outta mind.

Yeah, thats a good point, but on the other hand, i could do something kinda cool with it ya know....

The problem is i have pre-existing equipment from my last truck that id like to use if i could, i have two 10 JL WO that sounded awesome, but could have used a bigger box, so im leary of knowingly putting them into a reallly small box again....
