I just got a new head unit. I need to wire it into my parking break cable. I need to wire it to the positive side (I think, that what it shows in the directions). Where is the break cable? Will I be able to get to it behind the spot for my head unit? Thanks so much.

Can you explain why you need to wire your head unit to your parking brake cable?

I got a Panasonic CQ-DVR909U. I have been reading the instructions and after the wire harness is installed I have a different cable that I have to wire to the parking break. Its odd.

I think that may be a safety thing, to keep you from watching movies when the brake is not on. I don't want to get your unit fried, but check around I think you can just hook that wire up to your ignition and it will due the same thing as hooking it up to the brake. That way you can watch movies on the road.

Hey thanks. I dont know if I am going to do this myself. If I should have a sound shop do this then I know a lot more now thanks to this great board. Thanks for the heads up about the break cable. I will ask around.
