Greetings all. I came across this site after searching on Google for insight on MTX Thunderforms and I have to say I'm glad it came up. Very informative in all aspects. Well to make a story short I just purchased a new 2004 Dakota Quad Sport and am looking into an audio upgrade. I'm familiar with installs since I've done the multi amp set up on my 'Stang GT and other friends cars.

Are the Thunderforms really any good? I haven't heard one in a Dakota and I know unless I go "custom" thats pretty much all that is out there for enclosures. Do they "thump" or just efficient enough to round off the sound?

Thanks a million....

I've got a 2000 Dakota CC with thunderform under the rear seat(2 10's). It sounds pretty good, granted it is not a custom build, so you won't get the sound out of it. I got a "loaded" box(MTX's) and am powering it with a Phoenix Gold amp. It is a great addition to the Infinity Sound system. I prefer sound quality so I've got the bass turned down, but it will pound pretty good like that. You definetly won't win any competitions for SPL, but the fit and finish is great. I would recommend not getting one that is pre-amped. I've heard they don't supply enough power to the speakers.

My $0.02...

10" shallow woofers..
no chest compression bass but
it's good enough for me especially since i
get to keep my back seat with something that still looks stock...much better than without it.
