 Subject: suggestion for sound system

All,
I've not been into car audio in some years. I am now looking to put a decent system in. I currently have a pioneer indash radio/cd player. I'm looking at adding an amp and some 12" subs. What's the good brands I should consider these days? What about boxes? wood? plexiglas?

Kicker solobaric L5s or L7s and a hifonics amp.
what kinda music do you listen to?
if its more rock and alt. then a sealed box, but if rap and hiphop, then ported..
get back to me on this and ill let ya know more..

well, then i would suggest the kickers solobaric L5s (4ohm dvc)in a sealed box id go with about 1.25 cu ft per sub and about 1 lb of polyfil. with a hifonics BX1000d.
wire the subs into 1 ohm.
then connect them to the amp which is 1 ohm stable. it puts out 1000x1 rms at 1 ohm.
or go with the L7s and hook them up the same way, but to the hifonics BX1500d (1500rmsx1 @ 1 ohm).
either way, you cant loose, both will slam.
i listen to alotta rock and country and punk/ska, and some rap. i turn the amp down for the punk and country, but turn it up for the rock an rap and man does it slam ( and these are only 10s in a 2 cu ft sealed box)
check out onlinecarstereo.com, they have the best deal around besides ebay (if you trust ebay,then do it that way).

I have a system for sale if your interested...4 15" kickers...if you have a cc dakota...you have to forget that back window though...lol.
