I have found a way to put in a JVC 12 disc changer in a Dak w/ split bench front seat.

1) Remove 8 bolts that hold down the seat. There are 4 on each "bucket" seat.

2) After unbolting the seat, tilt back the seat. There are 4 bolts that hold the center seat to each bucket. Reomove these bolts. Be careful not to mix these bolts with the other 8. Also be careful when the center seat is removed.

3) The seat belts for the center seat go through a small strap. Pull the belts through these starps. The center seat should pull away.

4) BUILD YOURSELF A PLATFROM TO GO WHERE THE OLD CENTER SEAT WAS. I USED 3/4" PLYWOOD, 1/4" SHIMS, BLACK VINYL (WHICH LOOKED LIKE FACTORY CARPET ON THE FLIP SIDE), AND SOME HARDWARE.

5) Remove center tray. There are inner liners in each of the three copmartments. Remove the layers on the front and back partitions (there are pull tabs on the right side). The one closest to the seat has two screws under it, and the front copmartment has on screw. Also, take note of the notch in the back of the tray.

6) Position changer cable under the carpet. Take care to make sure the cable goes where the tray notch is. Also, a coat hanger may help feed the cable throughthe carpet openings. There is on under the tray and one under the center seat.
