I dont know about the rest of these sizes but I know the size listed in crutchfield is wrong for the 89-96. I have a 94 CC and used that for my size. I went out and got a nice set of Orion HCCA 5.25. Guess what. They didnt fit. The stock size is a 5.25 but the stock speaker has o huge mounting ring on it and a regualr 5.25 is to small. But a 6.5 fits perfectly.

That is the problem with these trucks, some aftermarket speakers don't just drop in (even when you have the correct size). Your sometimes better off just going ahead and building the spacer ring to compensate for that.

Ok then.. now that I have found 50 posts with sizes.. hehe <-- joke!

Can anyone tell me the max mounting depth in the facory locations in a 2000 CC?? (that would be front and rear if they are different)
I want to run 6.5 subs in the doors (i know 6.75 is the size.. don't worry about that) and mids in the rear.. but depending on which make and model i go with.. the mounting depths vary quite a lot.

Thanks!!

I can't believe you found this old post, makes me look like an A-Hole.

There is a ton of mounting debth in these doors, especially with the mounting ring. I don't think you will have any problems getting the 6.5 subs to work just fine. I think it is 5 7/16" mounting debth using the stock speaker locations up front. 4 1/8" in the back.

LMAO.. sorry R/Truck.. hehee... too funny.. thanks for the info.. I am just about to rip off the door panels to tint the windows so I will verify the depth later this evening.. there will be a slight spacer.. as I am using MDF to limit some vibration and keep the sub firmly in place.. meaning.. mdf to door metal, speaker to mdf..

Thanks again!!
