I wanna know what everyones hitting in there dakotas db wise i just had my dakota checked at a stereo shop and it hit 153 db's at the radio in my 2001 cc.Might not seem all that good but really i dont know but it does make it hard to swollow...lol.

How the hell does db's mean nothing? If you got your system in order to create SPL db's is what you want. 150 db's is as loud as a jet engine taking off or a firecracker. 153 is not too bad, whatya got in yer truck? I have 4 jl 12 w-3's. Dunno what the SPL is in it yet cause I havnt had the chance to check it out.

Ok now were getting somewhere. Audio is a matter of opinion. I for one agree. I enjoy a good mix of SPL and SQ. However that doesnt mean that DB's mean nothing, even if they sound like ass, 150 db's still means a high measurement of SPL.

Yes 150 dB is a high measurement of SPL, but myself, i could care less what my dB is, it sounds great. I might hit 135, and thats good enough for me. I am all about the sound quality, not how loud it is. just cause it can shake the mirrors off doesn't mean squat.

As I stated audio is a matter of opinion. There is still meaning behind db's and SPL. Some people aim for SPL alone, some aim for SQ alone. IMHO I like a good mix of both.
When you take a look at the different levels of stereo systems you will notice there are different mixes. Someone can hit 135 dB and sound like crap, while the next guy can hit at 135and sound sick as hell. The same goes with every other realistic dB range. 150- ass or 150 sick. In each case to each is own. This guy didnt ask what the SQ of everyones dakota is, he asked for the SPL.
Another thing to think about is that you can have good SPL and shi-tay SQ. That however can be changed by altering things in the cabin. Placement of woofers, sound dampening, decrease resonance and so on. In reality all it boils down to is that persons personal preferance. Yours happens to be SQ, that doesnt mean you can tell someone that SPL or the measurement of SPL doesnt matter when in fact it certainly can matter to that person and many others.

I have 4 15" kicker cvr's in a full wall and a memphis 1500d pushing them and i do have SQ too, i have a RF 300x 4 channel pushing a kicker rs6 component set with the 1 inch tweets. 1 more thing good choice with the jl's i had 2 of the 15w0 and they sounded pretty good but i just wanted to go with the kickers besides california customs wanted to must for makeing my box and everything
