Subject: Replacing Component Speakers

Hey All, I was wondering if someone out there might be able to help with this question. I amnot new by any means to the car audio world, but have recently moved from a car to my new 04 Dakota CC with the Infinity system. I have had it about a week now, and have already replaced the factory radio, and am looking at moving onto the speakers next.

My main question, is from reading the posts here, I have seen that people are stating that the amp runs at 2 ohms, is that because the speakers are wired that way. I had the door panel off and noticed that the wires to the midbass and tweeter ran into each other. What is the best way to add new components without incorporating an Amp yet. I plan on adding an amp in the not too distant future, but I am still sizing stuff out. I have Diamond Audio 6.5 components with a seperate X over, and don't want to lose the X-overs functionality. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
