How do they sound with just a Sony Explod HU powering them
How hard are they to install I've heard of needing adapter plates etc.
did i get a good deal $59 per set?

You shouldn't need any adapters they should just slide right in. I'm gettin some Reference components for the front in my Dak. If anything you may have to drill a couple holes. As long as they aren't fakes, $59 is bad ass! Sounds like u gotta nice truck.

I went to the Navy Exchange (I'm in the military) and listened to all of the speakers, and I am kidding you not...by far the best sounding speakers there were the JVC's. And I listened to Polks, Alpines, Sonys, Pioneers, etc. AND they were $35 a pair. I mean, hey, $70 for a complete set of speakers for your truck that sound BETTER than most speakers out there isn't too shabby.

Dont be fooled into what a speaker sounds like in a stoer envirment. alot has to do with the enclosure and the positioning...where these JVS mounted at just the right height?
Im not saying your wrong, just something to think about

Good point, and thankfully one I thought about. Which is why I asked if he knew anyone who had them in their car. The installation guy had them in his own car, plus my friend has them in his Explorer as well, and they sound great. But again, a good thing to point out.

I have 4 Infinity Kappas (6.5") and I am using a sony explode hu. Sounds good, although I think I will add an amp to them, Just for the extra volume. :-)

I have the Infinity Reference speakers. They sound pretty good- much better than the Polks that I have in the back. They add considerably more bass than the Polks. I think I paid close to $100 for them so $59 would seem to be a good deal. I have a 2001 Quad and they would not just pop right in. I actually ended up screwing the speakers directly to the black plastic mounts that the old speakers were connected to. So far so good! Good luck.

No worries, got them they are in factory sealed boxes, exactly as described with all parts instructions, and warranty cards the seller was SCIAUDIO, from NJ so they might be stolen or "fell off the truck" but that not my business, just kidding LOL I would reccommend them for some good deals on speakers

Well they certainly did'nt "just drop right in" but
they're in there well the front two and one rear
anyway (yes the rear channels are off for now)
but the fronts alone sound great!! the stock
speakers sure were lame, really weak looking
wimpy magnet. Wish i had made this change
on my last DAK before getting the
thunderform.
