sony..NO.. never....! dont waste your time / $$

you want decent for cheap. look into rockford fosgate 2 way speakers, best bang for the buck if you ask me. or component set up front and coaxils in the back. pioneers arent bad but i think RFs are better...

as for a head unit you can find a nice pioneer for about 160$, 22 rms watts x 4 channels (50x4 peak) kenwood makes decent headunits too, but pioneer is the best for the price, easiest too use and has alot of functions..

this is my opinion tho, im runnin RFs in my doors and rear pillar, and a pioneer deh 3600 headunit, and i love em all. as for subs, 2 solobaric L5 10s and hifonics bx1000d amp.

I agree with steveo, forget Sony. They used to be good, But I wouldn't touch them now.

I put a Pioneer DEH-P77DH deck in my 00 CC Dak 6 months ago and realy like it, alot of features for the price and works realy nice with amps, 3 pr RCA's, F,R&sub. I also put in 2 pr Infinity 605CS components, good quality sound and they can handle my 50Wrmsx4 Orion amp easily. Deck was $175+S&H from Etronics and 6 1/2" components were $90+S&H and $65+S&H on Ebay.

I haven't run any of the RF mid-tweet speakers but like the subs and amps. I have RF XLC 10's and a RF 301S amp in the Dak, love them both.

6 3/4" and 6 1/2" are realy close, most people go with the 6 1/2" since 6 3/4" isn't a common speaker size. Not many speakers to choose from in the 6 3/4" size.

Dont waste your time/money with Sony, besides a HeadUnit possibly...but even then Pioneer is prolly the best for the money.

Speakers go with Infinity Reference series are really good and not too expensive. Ive got Cerwin-vega 5-1/4" in my old car that are awesome but its hard to find them anywhere now. I would go to a store and listen to the speakers so you can see what you like the best, some people love speakers that sound like sh*t. So you cant go by everyones recommendations.

Definitly stay away from your local caraudio place/bestbuy/circuitcity etc... you can get everything for much cheaper on eBay or etronics.com. And if your worried about the warranty, for what you saved you can replace them once and still not have paid more.

levelys right...

stay away from best buys and such places... look on www.stores.ebay.com to find a dealer. use the web to your advantage here.

i wouldnt even bother with a sony anything.. i had 2 sony 12s, and gaah they sucked... i have a few freinds with sony headunits, they are junk too. pioneer is best bang for the buck, most features and easy to use.

best thing to do about speakers is to go to a shop and listen to them, then order them off the net, youll save sooo much that way.

good luck
