How do fets work what do they do and what makes them do the job.
All I know is that they have 3 studs. I think one is called the gate, but i dont have a clue?

So do bipolars. Bipolars have 3 elements too, base, emitter, and collector. FETs have the source, gate, and drain. The best way I can put it is that bipolars act as switches, and FETs act as valves.
