Hey guys, I have a 2002 Dakota, 4.7L V8...I've been looking around for a really nice exhaust system. I don't want cheap sound, I want the low, growling V8 noise! I'm just looking for some suggestions or ideas on special products that have been known to have a good reputation. Any comments would be appreciated, thanks guys..

Daniel

Flowmaster or Borla both make good exhaust components... I have a 3.9 that I cut the catalytic converter off and put a Flowmaster 40 series ($69 at Autozone)... Sounds pretty mean, but its time to put a converter back on... Its a little too loud now that I have got a ticket, and been pulled over like 8 times ;) *Remember, anything that makes you noticable to other people, makes you noticable to cops too*

Cool huh DSW?

And people wonder my sub is aimed at the floor ;) hehe

I never fully understood why it worked... I had the "longer wave is better" theroy untill I saw the nice digrams on the page linked above. It's not so much the true length of the sound wave but the cancellation effect caused by the distances the wave travels that effects the sound.

Knowledge IS power! :D

John, I agree, excellent info. I'd seen some words/references to this, but have never seen any measures before.

I may try turning my box, behind the back seat, around. I'm not sure if there is room, but only one way find out. Also, since the front of the box is only 4-6 inches away from the back wall, I'm not sure if I would get any reinforcement of the bass wave.
