I have a Rockford Fosgate 500W Multi-channel amp. Worked wonders for my front components, and my rear tweets. Don't see why it wouldn't work for you.

Sony amps are probably the worst amps that you could possibly get. First of all their power ratings are below what they say, second of all they heat up a lot and have caused small fires in cars, and thirdly they are just cheap. RF do make quality stuff and so does pioneer, phoenix gold, jl, and mtx. I sell car audio equipment from a wholesale warehouse so if you do ever decide on what you want I carry pioneer, p gold, mtx, and i can definently beat retail prices by a lot and can hook u up with anything you need for a lot less. Just let me know. Just dont get sony, they suck!

2nd dak...that is a very good price. you should stick with that cause that amp retails for 280. I cant beat that price. Closest i could get it to you for would be a little less than 200, which is about 30% off, so that is a good deal definently. But make sure that the internet site is legitimate because i know a lot of them can rip you off and you probably wont be getting the manufacturers warranty like you would if you bought from me or retail. But that is definently a good deal, so good luck. If you need anything else pioneer, mtx, phoenix gold, or some other brands including home audio too like toshiba or sharp, let me know before you buy it retail or off the internet because i do get good deals on the stuff. my email is blazeaudio2003@yahoo.com good luck with you amp.

pol, the warehouse i sell out of is www.volutone.com, but you cant really browse on it, you have to have a username and password and have to be one of their clients. But their intro should tell you more about what I have, and some of the brands. I believe if you do go in the site, you can click on Vendor Links and it will give you links to their website. I carry almost everything on one of the vendors websites, so if you give me a part number or description i could find it for you and definently beat retail and most internet pricing. some brand websites i know off hand... www.pioneerelectronics.com www.mtxaudio.com www.phoenixgold.com www.myronanddavis.com www.monstercable.com www.toshiba.com and www.sharpelectronics.com . If you look on those sites i should pretty much carry everything that is on there. I know toshiba and sharp arent car audio but i can hook it up with sorround sound, hdtv, plasma, some camcorder by sharp, dvd players, vcrs, pretty much everything. There is about 85 brands that I carry of all sorts of stuff so anything that you could possibly think of from home security cameras to TV stands i carry. just let me know. blazeaudio2003@yahoo.com by the way, just if you have any questions i do have a contract with this warehouse and i do have a business license so i am legit and i do carry the manufacturers waranty.

sorry for all the posts...i keep on forgetting to answer questions, but...

pol, http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/thunder1004.cfm that is a very powerful mtx amp, probably the best they make. The retail price on that is 700 as said on the site and you find it in stores for 700, but i could get that to you for about 500. MTX amps do run kinda expensive but they are good amps. I also carry phoenix gold amps that are very good, pioneer which is kinda pricy on their amps, coustic, and also this new brand cadence which makes some pretty good stuff. let me know if that is powerful enough for you or in the price range.

Pol, Id say your best bet would be to go with one 4 channel for the speakers and one mono for the sub. In your post before you said you wanted serious power, and if you tried to power all of them with lets say a two channel amp you would be running the speakers all off of one channel so i believe you would wire it in a series, and that would not only screw up being able to change the balance and fade on the speakers but it would completely underpower the sub. I think your best bet would be to get a decent 4 channel amp for your speakers and a mono amp to power your sub. That way you would have control over your speaker s and youd be putting the right amount of wattage to them, along with running your sub at rms so you can get better bass. let me know what you think. I dont know that much about the quad cabs because i have the club cab, but i think if you only have one sub you could fit that and the sub amp under the seats in the back and fit the 4 channel under the drivers seat where it would be barely visible.

well, ok. but i'll tell u there is no way i'll be able to fit a sub under the back seat. there is less space under the quad seats in the back then the club... if i had the club, it would have been a matter of time.. with the quad, i'm not sure... i think there is only bout an inch and half clearance under the seat... maybe. another question, ever use sound storm amps.. somoeone round here mentioned they weren't bad. could get 1k watt 2 chan for $250... and 700 watt for $200, however, niether will fit under the seats so that won't work either.. thanks for all the info...

Pol,
Ok... I've done some researching for you. First of all, up until you told me about Sound Storm amps I had never heard of them. I looked them up and they look to be decent amps. They are kinda big though for the power they are putting out, and their frequency response is kinda small along with their variable crossover. And who knows about if they will be good under the seat at not heating up too much and also if they actually run at what they claim. They are however pretty tall amps. From what I saw they are about 2 3/4 inches tall. I do believe that you can fit an amp underneath the front seats in your quad from what i have read, http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/aud/749.html. For powering a decent sized sub, I would personally suggest this amp, http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/archive/thunder6500d.cfm It is a good amp and if you notice it is only 2.1" high, which in such a small space is a lot smaller than 2.75". Just let me know, because it has been done and i definently believe it to especially be possible with a low height amp like MTX or something along those lines. If you are interested in an any amps or subs, just let me know. I will find what you need and see if it works for you, and if it does Im sure I will be able to hook you up with a very good price.

thanks blaze. sounds cool. the other question i did forget to ask was what was the best sub to get with the best cost and best stability (can take a beating). i have been using ultralinear comp subs which work well and respond fast. they ran 75 each 1k watt sub with a 150oz double stacked magnet and dual 2 1/2 inch voice coils. has freq response of 28hz-1khz. they hit good and fast but is there better?? i like the bang for the buck.. thanks again.

pol, from what you say that sounds like a pretty good sub for the money. Mtx makes some pretty good subs for the money, especially since i get the cheaper from wholesale, this newer brand named cadence has some good stuff, although not as good as MTX, but it is cheaper and still pretty good stuff. Check out their websites if you are interested, I guess the best way of checking if you like a sub better for the money is to go to tweeter, fry's, circuit city, whatever you have in your area, etc. and listen to the sub with the proper amp and if it hits harder and sounds better than yours let me know and ill see if i carry it and can hook u up. Other than that I dont really know what to say because there are so many factors in subwoofers that make them sound good and powerful, that just by the information you gave me i cant tell you what is better or better for your money, cause it is your money, not mine. But pretty much to some extent unless you are getting a great deal, the more you spend the better sub you are gonna get. I know people will disagree but the reason subs are priced more is because for the most part they are that much better. Obviously the "better brand" will probably charge more for a comparable sub than the small, starting up company, and i might be wrong, but for 75 bucks you arent gonna get a w7 or mtx9500 or a kicker solobaric. But there are subs out there like the w3 or the mtx thunder6000 or 8000 that are very good sounding subs that hit hard that are available for a good price from retail and an even better price from me. i guess from all this rambling...i am just saying you get what you pay for and that is only your decision on what is worth your money. im going to stop this post now because i feel like i repeated myself like 5 times and i need to stop. so let me know if you do want something or what you do end up deciding on with both the subs and amps.
