Subject: Sub in a quad?
IP: Logged

Message:
Anyone find anything for getting a decent subwoofer into a quad cab dakota without losing any seating space? I've seen some of you make some nice boxes and put them in the middle, sort of an extension from the center console. I like 'em but I don't want to lose the cab space. Anyone build something in the tiny spaces behind the rear seats or under the rear seats?

Thanks guys,

If I am not mistaken you can use the sub box by mtx that is used for a club cab. It fits under the rear seats and holds two 10's. Check this website out http://www.mtxaudio.com

I'm pretty sure the mtx box won't fit. There's only about an inch and a half under there! Kinda sucks. I actually just installed a 12" behind the driver seat because I could't take it any longer. I had an 8" Fosgate behind the driver side rear seat and it sounded good, but I wanted more. The sub and q-logic box are brand new (just over a month) and I can't return them, so... if anyone is interested. I can send pics if need be.

The thunderforms will not fit in a QC. With patience you are able to fit a ten behind the driverside back seat. Not much air in it though. I have a mtxthunder 4000 back there. It hits pretty good on the mid to high bass. The lows aren't real loud though. It definitely makes a difference though. I also only have one of the kenwood 250 amps. The amp was 89, the speaker was 30, and the box was about 5 hours of patience. You will have to notch the back of the box as well if you use the 3/4 inch MDF. Hope this helps. The only other option I could find is to put a locking fiberglass lid on, and then port some decent speakers into the cab. See ya.
