Subject: Engine wont start

i just installed a sound system in a 96 ford explorer. the only thing i did in the engine bay was connect the power audio cable to the battery. im sure all the connections to the battery are tight, but the engine wont start. i hear the starter trying to start, but the engine wont even try to turn over. what did i do wrong? please respond ASAP

#1 it's a Ford so electrical problems are the norm... I owned a Mustang and a Ranger so I know ;) :P

#2 are the battery connections clean? Just 'cause they are tight does not mean enough juice is flowing.

#3 did you wear the battery down too low while doing the install (listening, testing, dome light on for HOURS)?

try checking your fuses. i ran into this problem when i installed on my friend's subaru.

sometimes if a fuse for something important, like brake lights, hazards, etc. is blown, the car won't let itself start, fuel will not send.

hopefully thats all it is. i cant imagine it being anything else significant based on your install

you may not have the remote wire hooked up correctly. if so the subs will constantly drain the battery of power. if you don't have the wire's connected up to the amp correctly it will do the same. check all of your conection. if you didn't conect the remote wire, there's your problem, your system will stay on even though the truck is off.
