97 dakota, replacing fact radio with pioneer, have factory manual and have all wires noted where to go...will be putting in this weekend.
question: factory has orange for illumination and black/yellow for dimmer. pioneer has only one input for illumination. do I use the orange from the truck, or the black and yellow if I want the display to dim?

If the pioneer is not setup with a dimmer option hook it up to the orange wire. It possibly could work with the other wire since it just lowers the voltage with a reastat but if the Pioneer requires a set amount of voltage to operate the illumination feature it wont work.
