Subject: Blaupunkt's PA2100

Message:
Has anyone tried replacing the digital "infinity" amp with an aftermarket digital amp? Crutchfield has the Blaupunkt line on sale. The dimensions are very similar for the stock vs the infinity. Heat should not be a problem and this may be a "cheap" and easy way to upgrade the power of the infinity system. I know that a new power wire would be needed (8 guage required for the Blaupunkt), but other than that the connections seem pretty strait. Any input / thoughts would be appreciated.

Geojf-
I'm running the PA4100, the 4 channel version of Blau's T-class. The diminsions without the plastic case are 9"x7.5"x2". I think that the PA2200 and PA2100 are the same or very close in size. The amps come with adapters for high level (speaker) connection which the stock radio/amp uses. They also feture 12dB crossovers and bass boost. If you use them in low pass for subs, the remote gain is very nice. If you do a search of this forum for PA4100 you can read other posts about this topic. FYI, I tried to fit this amp where the factory one is located, but it didn't quite fit. You may have better sucsess as I have a Durango. I know for a fact that the PA275 2x75wrms amp is smaller than the PA2200 and PA4100. I like my amp very much and it was an excellent choice for my stealth install. You can see pics at:

Let me know if you have any other questions,
Nate
