Here is my problem. Im building a custom box to replace my center console for my 2001 regular cab. I have the box mainly built already, just waiting for the sub to arrive to finish the project. Anyways the total airspace of the box is 1.3638 cubic feet. THe sub I bought is a 10 inch Rockford Fostgate HE2 RFP4210. I want to port my box in the front. Take a look at the picture an you will better understand. http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=340525 A friend told me with the airspace I have, a 3 inch diameter pipe that is 12 inchs long will be required to port my box correctly. I have only 9 inchs of space to fit a 10 inch sub so I cant place the port on the wall with the sub, supposedly where the port reaches its optimium performance. I want to put it on the opposite side of the sub, but I heard that it really isnt best if it is put there. CAN SOMEONE WHO HAS THE KNOWLEDGE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ABOUT THE PORT JOB??? Thanks

best way to find out is to do the math, check out the link and then go down to port calculation, the length is all dependent on the frequency you want.
