Which would sound better in your opinion.....3 12w6's or 2 15" mtx 8000's both of them would be running at 2 ohms off a mtx 81000D (about 1650 watts at 14.4 volts) Thank you.

you cant run 3 W6's at 2 ohm.

W6's are dual 6ohm subs. if you wire 3 of them in "series/parallel" they will run at 4ohm. if you wire in "parallel/parallel" you will be at 1ohm

personally, i dont like MTX. i would go with the JL.

BUT, since you already have an MTX amp. i would do the matching subs.

if you want to run the (2) MTXs at 2ohm. you will have to get the single voice coils. 2 wired in parallel will run at 2 ohm.

if you get the dual voice coils you will have to run them at 1ohm or 4 ohm. then you are in the same boat with the (3)W6s

man, your options are pretty much open

if you want to run 2 subs, you need to find 2 4 ohm SVC subs, or 2 2ohm DVC subs.

you can run the 2 4ohm SVC subs at 2ohm, or the 2 2ohm DVC subs at 2 ohm.

ill be honest, every system i have heard that has been ALL mtx has been pretty good. for some reason MTX subs i have heard with diff amps have sounded crappy. so thats why i said stick with the MTX subs. i think 15" mtx's with the 8100D will slam. (given the proper enclosure(

if you want to search for subs, here is a pretty good list of brands

i hope this post made sense, its like 3 45 am and im pretty drunk. lol. i think i have good drunk typing skills

Does anyone else have any opinions of what subs to get that wont take up all my room? I am a sound quality fanatic and i would like to be able to turn it up pretty good too. I would like 2 or 3 12's or 10's. Im interested in a trade if anyone has some. I have 2 15" mtx 8000's, box and mtx 81000D.
