If you can, you should go down to a dealer that sell JL's and ask for a demo. The first time I heard those JL's pump I was sold, but try to ask for a demo on what your looking for and that might be a good start.

JL AUDIO IS THE BOMB!!!!!!!! I run two 12"jl audio w3's, pushed by a Jl audio 500/1. And I couldn't be happier. On a scale of one to ten I rate JL at about 9.75, what they lack in EXTREME lows they more than make up for in about every other way. I shake windows and blow the doors off anyone else in my home town. The only other companys I can think of that can compare to JL in the subwoofer department is Eclipse (for exsquisite sound quality) but are alltogether way to expensive. Also the new solo-barics are good but take way to much space and power. It's all in what YOU hear man, I can't tell you what is going to sound the best to you. Every one has their Favorites and JL is mine. Just a little F.Y.I Alpine makes the best head units and check out MB Quart when it comes to mids good luck and listen for what you like best.

I personally think JL's are overrated. I've probably said this on like 5 post already in the past ten minutes but for less money you could go with Element Designs, or Adires. Now that I think about it there is also the Blueprint subs you could go with. They are only like $89 for a 12 and will kill a set of W3's

I have 2 15" jl w0's and a 600 watt amp,and they say on the subs 250 max and i'm pushing 300 with no problems, there fuking loud as he!!,there my buddies,he wanted to know what they would sound like and i have to say they sound bad a$$.I'm going with 4 15"RF and 2 memphis 1500d's,i'm going with the RF's to try something new and they are good subs,i think the reason people like jl's so much is(and i do like jl's)because they have stayed the same, while others are makind there subs different and making designs(like the solo's)from kicker.

JL's are just bad ass. thats all there is too it. i have 2 12W0's in my SC dak and i hit a 140 db. with only 200 watts going to both. the new line of JL's are even better. theyve improved the cooling, voice coils, changed the design of all the subs, the baskets and even the magnets. i would put a pair of JL's properly installed against any sub out there anyday. oh btw, ive had my 12's for 5 yrs now. never blown, never had a problem. thats just my 2 cents. as far as the best radios, i have to go with eclipse. ive had an alpine and i like my eclipse alot better. better sound quality. i can vouch for this cause i work at stereo shop and we sell both JL and Eclipse. just 2 more cents.

I just built a box with 2 jl w3 8s.
I built it to replace my center concole.
I took care to provide the correct air space and provide enough power. (tantrum 600.4)
I also have 6 1/4 JL speakers in the doors.
It sounds very clean and hits hard.
I am no audio pro but I think clean power and correct airspace are more of a factor than the particular speaker.
I went with JL and I would again.
