Subject: suggestions on my setup (& a good deal)

Hey everybody.

Just have some questions as this is the first system i will be installing.

Currently i have a memphis mc2004 (50wx4), a memphis st500d (500X1 @ 2ohms) 2 sets of mb quart components, a thunderform w/out subs as of right now, a 4g amp wiring kit, a 1 farad digital cap, and all the other necessary rca's and all that junk.

My questions are can i run the 4g power to the cap, and then out of the cap to both amps? I hope that would be ok since my amps arent super powerful and the sub amp is a class D. I was planning on putting the sub amp and the cap under my driver's seat, and the 2004 under teh passengers seat. is this too far to run the power from the cap to the 2004?

Finally, Do the new IDQ DVC 10's actually fit in the thunderform? I was doing some research, and it seems that they have fit for a few people (without any mods), but others say they dont.

Also, if anybody is interested, i got a sweet deal on my audiobahn cap at the link below $104 shipped for the 2003 model. (ive ordered one set of my mb quarts from this vendor before.... very very cheap somehow....stolen? i dunno. but i got my product fast and in perfect shape. Just want to pass the savings along ... it's also a damn sweet looking cap compared to some that are out there)..

-hope somebody can help

thanks

you should be able to use the 4ga wire, I would go atleast 2 into the cap though and 4 out to both amps. You don't really need a cap though. With a good altenator and wires a cap is useless. About the IDQ's I think they will fit, I'm not 100% sure. You would get a much better sound if you built the boxes yourself though.

i was under the impression that a cap is a good thing to have no matter what??

my friend has an xplod 500w amp and thats it in his isuzu pickup and it dims the headlights. he also has a brand new battery?

i dunno.

does anybody know if a quality 4g power wire would suffice for my setup?? i already bought the kit, and i dont have much money left.

what would about 12 ft. of 2g wire go for at a typical local shop?

thanks

Yes the Image dynamics IDQ10D4 v.2 will fit , I have them in mine !! I used 2 gaskets so the pole vent could vent ..
What I know fit , I tried a bunch to see !
Image dynamics idq's , idqd4 , idqd4 V.2 , jl audio 10w0 (require slight whetherstrip) , Orion xtr , xtr 10d , Fosgate RFZ's , Vega series 10 (require thick weatherstrip) but do fit ! Vega IT have the same basket so they will fit also these are tight but they fit ! Kicker comp vr ( must grind a bit of the box on the inside edge no biggy ) Fosgate He's may fit with thick gasket

What I know wont fit

the 4 ga will work. If you don't haev a good deep cycle battery and a good altenator then I would use a cap. Caps can help regulate power, but you will almost never be able to run your stereo without your truck running
