look dude, all u do is take a few simple measurements...measure out how much heigh u have to use against ur back wall...then how much width u have on the bottom and top with ur seat where u like it to be...then constuct ur box according to those specifications...and it will look something like a triangle...

I installed 8's behind/under my rear seats. Like Justin said, just measure your dimensions (I didn't keep a record of mine) and build your wedge-shaped boxes. Be sure to provide the space in your box required by the speaker manufacturer. Most speakers require different amounts of space depending on their specs.

I just finished my instal of 3 solo baric L7 8's behind the rear seats of a quad cab. Each sub has about .42cuft. of air space. I garuntee you if you heard this you would never believe they are 8's. I believe my box is 12" wide, 15" tall, the top is 3.25" and the bottom is 7.75" but i used 1/4" thick fiberglass for the front and back of the box so that i could have enough airspace and still fit it behind the back seat. So you could add .5" to the top and bottom and get the correct air space. If you build the box right and seal it correctly, it will hit realllllly hard. I also filled the box w/ stuffing.

Blackdak20,

How did you fit three 8" subs on a surface area that is only 15" x 12"? 1/4" fiberglass is pretty weak for a box holding 1 solobaric not to mention 3! I bet that box flexes like hell.

How do you figure that box gives you .42 cuft for each sub? It's more like .5 cuft for the whole box (depending on what the i.d. is).

Please enlighten me. Maybe I'm not picturing this box the correct way.

Sorry guys, right now I dont have pics of it. I will soon be romoving it to dynamat the back wall so ill borrow a digital camera to take pics of it. They are all being pushed by a rockford fosgate 1000bd mono amp. Spaghets, sorry about that I didnt totaly explain myself. That box is 1 box. There is 2 boxes holding the 3 subs. 1 box holds 2 subs 1 box holds 1 sub. That is the size of the single box. The 2nd box is like 23.5" wide but everything else is the same. The fiberglass is actualy 1/8" mdf wood laminated in fiberglass. Fiberglass was layed out on both sides then the entire sheets where stuck into a vacume bag. They where left in the vacume bag to dry. When its in a big sheet its kinda flexy but when cut to size it is pretty much as stiff as the 3/4" mdf wood.
