Okay, I've finally had enougn of the sub-par
stock stereo in my Dak. I want to plan a total
audio makeover, but keeping economy and
stock locations/installations is very important. I
know the door speaker locations suck (aiming
at your feet); sattelite tweets would solve that.
I don't need to ruin my hearing (any more) with
high volume and don't need seismic bass, but
good range (maybe 1/2 Thunderform?).
Any sensible suggestions? TIA.

I would say that I have a sane setup close to what you are looking for...
Get a thunderform....decent coax speaks for the rear and decent component speakers for the front(seperate tweets)..new head unit and 2 small amps..
In my truck, everything is stealth and sounds really good. Not the best system as compared to what guys are running here, but very good considering price and locations.
