Not without either removing the rear seats, or at least raising them up.. we were going to do this but found no buyers for the (4) 10" CompVR's so plan "B" use what you got..

The 12" L7's require between 6" and 7" of mounting depth, including 3/4" below the magnet for air flow out of the center of the magnet, and then allow for the diameter for the magnet. The '98 Dak has only approx. 5" total depth from the bottom of the seat cushion when the tool kit is removed. I have a '98 CC and the irregular surface causes you to have to move the spkrs towards the front of the truck, so they can't be centered, front to back in the void where the tool kit is.

I am currently building a custom box with a glass'd bottom conforming to the floor...raising the seats about 3" to fit the (4) 10's. All the panels are out, the tool kit is out, and the rough wood frame is sitting in place. Dynamat is on order, this weekend we'll do some more sizing, framing, to complete the MDF shell.

Also have to find a place to mount the amp, plan "A" on the rear cab wall, plan "B" is under the passenger seat because I'm not that good with auto upolstery.

the kicker 12L7 need 6.75 inches and the airspace below the magnet. so lets say wee need a total of 8 inches.

you said there is about 5 inches where the stock seat is. you said you are going to raise your seat up another 3 inches. if i do the same, it technically gives me my 8 inches.......right?

how hard is it to move the seats up?

Lowest accetpable bid would have been $275.00, plus shipping.. They are in excellent shape, still have the factory boxes, and also a honda accord trunk mdf box.

They have been removed from the trunk box, for layout and sizing in the dak cab, and repacked in the factory boxes.. But make offer very soon, as the new under seat box is already roughed out.. but its only mdf so far.

Raising the rear seats.. simple method, Remove the hinges and place seat bottom on top of the subs.. There are endless methods to protect the subs, grille cloth, spacers,...

I have seen spacers on the hinges, cut reweld the hinges, and perhaps remount the hinge on the rear cab wall higher..

We're plannin to 86 the hinges and place the seats bottoms on top the the sub box.. held in place by velcro or similar, with a stowage area in the bed or sides of the rear cab area when the subs are on display and exposed.

jl, you could add 1x1" spacers that would jack up the seats giving an air gap between the seat cusion and the speaker..

92, last chance on the Comp Vr's.. (4) x 10".. although in a couple weeks maybe you could buy them from me with a noce Dak-CC rear box.

Every inch up is another inch up from the bottom of the cab... how tall is the person sitting in the back..

That would give you 1" air space form the top of the box to the bottom of the seat.

I'm planning to flush mount the 10's in the box and looking at what Ive' got it will have raised the seat up about a total of 3 or 4 inches, but I also don't forsee people sitting on it very often or for long.

IF YOU WOULD CONSIDER 10'S, I HAVE AN UNLOADED BOX THAT I WILL SELL FOR $100 PLUS SHIPPING. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANY MODIFICATIONS TO YOUR REAR SEAT AT ALL. THE FRONT OF THE SEAT WILL SIT UP ABOUT 1/2 INCH THOUGH (NO BIG DEAL). IT HAS A PLACE FOR AN AMP OR WHATEVER IN THE MIDDLE. EMAIL ME FOR PIX OR QUESTIONS. CHRISBMX@ZOOMINTERNET.NET
