ok i just sent those guys the pics so hopefully they will post them within the next few days. here is a description so you know what i had in mind while your lookin at the pic. btw...i'll take any critisism anyone has to offer.

The wood part of the box follows the outline of the stock carpet of the vehicle, it goes straight across the back and curves down the sides with those little pieces that are there for looks.

The bottom and the dome parts will be fiberglass construction, we were unable make the sub mounting look exactly like i had origionally wanted because we dont know what we're doing in autocad, but basically they should look like that execpt they will actually be flush with the fiberglass dome...not extruding out. there is a 1.5" wood flange around the outside of the sub...that is the grey color you see.

The blueish stuff in the "seat" area is plexi that is cut very very very carefully so i can get that sweet arc shape to it. underneith that i will mount some sort of amp rack and other necessities along w/ a neon of course. more than likely i will also etch "dakota" into the glass also.

that seperate piece of the box that is just hanging in mid air is a seat that i will have to build (w/ sewing help from good ole mom).

as for the back, i'll have to whip something together for a cushion for the back.

what im thinking is that i will be able to keep some sort of back seat and at the same time have a sweet sub setup.

there are a few more mod's i want to make to the box but i need to figure out how to make them work on autocad before i can draw them up...when i finish i will be sure to post them here

tell me what you think of it.

btw...i've already build an under seat fiberglass box for 1 12" that is currently installed....i have pics of that too if anyone is interested....if i go through with this, that box will be for sale.

thats real similar to what i'm looking for except my version would be quite a bit bigger and house bigger subs.

if you look behind that box you can see the carpet...in my version i would actually remove all that carpet and build the box to the boundaries of the plastic on the wall and not to just a point in space...

that box looks pretty sweet though, do you know where a guy could see more pics of that????

its not as hard as you might think....its all in the prep work and being patient with your fiberglass. That is a real nice box though...

how much would a setup like that normally run? I'm thinking of following that design but withot fiberglass so it will be more rounded.

conig.. you had a typo in your message...we're you going to try to do that without fiberglass????

anyway, if your going to build it yourself you'll probably have about $100-150, fiberglass and all the stuff that goes with it is kinda pricey. if your going to have a shop build it? i have no idea, but i would guess prolly over $500 not including the equiptment.

I know this is an old post...but I was wondering if anyone had found anything out about this box...I would really like to try and either find this if it is produced by a company...or just attempt to build something like it

well if anyone is interested, i am pretty good with fiberglass. i work at stereo shop in pasadena, tx and we've done quite a bit of fiberglass work. something like that or similar to that would run probably around $800.00 and up. fiberglass can get pretty expensive. it takes a lot of work. if anyone is in the area, stop by and check us out. ask for Jesse.

Nah you can do it Matt! I'm building mine right now! Will have it done this weekend and hopefully installed to see what she sounds and looks like! I built it fatter on the bottom and skinnier on the top so the seat can go back a lil further and look a lot cleaner!
