Hey guys i have a question hopefully someone can help me,i think i know what it is but not for sure, first of all i do still have my stock cd player in my truck,I have 2 12's in ported box with a 800x2 amp,and when the radio is turned on and off the subs hit once, and when i turn the amp up i get alot of road noise(my subs make a whistling noise)i unhooked the subs untill i get everthing it takes to fix it.I prolly need a different cd player don't i,and next a cap. so the lights don't blink.Whats you guys opinions? Also is there anyone out there that has 4 15's in there dakota cc's?I'm puting 4 in my truck soon but its hard to find boxs'i'll prolly costom make me one.

midnight dak- you might as well just do a full wall in your dak. i'll be installing 2 orion hcca 15:'s after xmas at sometime in an 8 or 10 cube ported box. i'll take some pics prob. either that or you would have to have 15's that dont need alot of space and would have to do sealed. either way, it will be banging. BTW, im gonna use a RF bd1500 for my subs. peace

hey midnight, i would suggest the w3's, i had 2 15w3's previously and it was loud, each in a 1.75sealed box. if you did 4, 2 in the middle, and one on each side somewhat facing in, it would be hella loud w/ say a jbl 1200.1 i would be just too scared of running w0's w/ more than recommended power. good subs for the $ but you could prob get 4 new w3's for 600 total on ebay.....jmo

Thanx MADMAXIN22,i'll take a look on ebay at the w3's because the guy was wanting 350 for the w0's and i just backed out of it the other day because he told me they only handle like 200 watts apiece something like that, and i want to push more than that though them i'd hate to get them and blow them out the next day that would suck. What do you think would sound better 4 12's or 4 15's? I think 15's would hit the low bass hard but people have told me that 12's are better. One more thing i would like your opinion on a good cd player that wont skip to all these speakers i prolly don't need..lol..i was kinda leaning towards a kenwood.

12's are good if you have less space available, a good 15 or 4 can sound just as good as a 12 or 4 12's. i doubt i will ever go back to 12's, EVER, i love the sound that a 15 can produce. 4 15's is very doable in a CC dak. My useable dimensions came out to be 47Lx17Dx26-28H which comes out to over 8 cubes after subtracting for wood. 2 cubes per 15 is enough to have an awesome sounding setup. i wanted to go ported, since hcca's arent designed for sealed setups or i might have gotten crazy and tried more subs, but i also wanted to be able to see out my back window. good call on turning down the W0's, as for deck, any will sufice, can always stabilize the deck better w/ spacers or anything. i just bought a pioneer deh-77 din and a half, putting it in tom. if i figure all the wiring out in time. anyways, 4 15's is doable and will have a super, super, AWWWW factor and be hella loud. peace

Thanx man, well i couldn't find 15 inch w3's on ebay but i'll look later on but for a box i couldn't find any for 4 subs only 2 but i thought i could get 2 and put them together, the ones i found where sealed boxes made for 2 15's they where the ones that set behind the seats and the subs kinda pointed up wards i thought about pointing the bottom 2 subs up and the top subs down but im still looking for boxes.

hey man, you'd be better off making a box for that setup....i know, you prob dont want to or know how to, but if you ask around on some audio sites you can prob find someone that will help you build one/design it. if you wanted to, you could build a box like this, picture the top of an H, w/ middle top section open, the rest box. it would be alot of work, but would be worth it

1 sub in top left, one in top right, 2 on bottom, all facing foward, w/ that middle top section open so you can see out the back window and maybe mount your amp in there.....just an idea.........

oh ya, if you are putting these in the bed, building a box would be simple to do, little bit harder for the cab. a blow thru wouldnt be hard to do but i didnt feel like hacking up my truck. i have an a.r.e hard tonneau and it would be pretty hard to get into. and btw, dont get a CAP, they are just extra strain put on the charging system once they release their power. if you got the 135 amp alt. you'll be alright w/ just getting a beefy battery and running thick power wire. w/ 4 15's you could get away w/ running one massive amp like a bd1500 or 2 smaller ones. blah blah, im bored, and its 2 a.m.

and as for the box in my truck.. sorry bout the late response.. i would rather not give you the dimensions for this one cause i have it demolished.. haha im building a 6 cuft box for my 2 subs.. but if you still want the dimensions then ok i guess i can let ya have em.. haha the small box just didnt do the subs justice.. but the bigger one will.. anyways.. im out

JOE_HIMSELF,lol yea i have 2 12 inch alpine type r's and a 800x2 amp and my lights blink like crazy i'm surprised i haven't got pulled over yet.Yea, i would love some dimensions i haven't really decided if i'll go 15's or 12's,I've heard people put 2 12's and 2 15's but i don't think that would sound very good but then agian i don't know.

i have it in my favorites, to view all new 15" subs, just go to ebay, then ebay motors, car audio, choose subwoofers, then again subwoofers, then can choose which size and view all 15's on ebay....... my a.r.e. shows no signs of leakage. check locally or on here for one for sale, got mine for 150 and its gonna cost me about 1-150 to get painted, so i saved over 60% instead of new.

you could do the subs in the cab, and keep the amps/batts in the bed, kinda different. shoot me an email if ya have any more ?'s
