I have a Kicker SoloBaric L7 12" in a kicker slot ported box, powered by a Rockford 1000BD amp pushing 500watts RMS at 4ohms. I was debating on wheater i should buy a new Rockford 700S amp, which would push 700watts RMS at 4ohms which is almost the 750watt RMS PEAK, or i could get another 1000BD amp and another L712" for about the same amount...granted i would have to buy a distribution block. What do you think? Also I want my bass to be a little more heart pounding bass, should i switch to a sealed box(s) with either set up? I have the whole back seat to sacrifice in my CC. Thanks for any input.

If you like to listen to your music at high levels (loud) I would suggest you stay with sealed. The ported boxes sound great but can be a little brutal on your subs when the volume gets cranked up.

Yeah i got a slot port box now, but i constantly bump to where i can here some distortion from the sub. So you think that i should switch to sealed? What if i get another L712" and another 1000BD amp should i seal them both?

hmm.. i would stay with the ported if you want to feel the bass.. i have a ported box with my two hccas and i had one with my solo l7 as well.. hmm its wierd how they are distorting they shouldnt be.. i always say run rms in watts from your amps to your subs.. may cost more but its worth it. go ahead and buy another 12 and another amp..LOL go all the way and youll get that bass you want.. or buy the hccas.. :) im always promoting them ive had no problems with them and they have blown out my back slider window if thats enought heart pounding bass for you..

i have 2 L7's in a sealed box, but have a kickerzr 360 pushing 1 (the other one it sitting on my couch)it "knocks puctures off the wall" but i want to get 2 memphis 500watt amps and run one amp per speaker. i have seen that new rockford amp looks pretty sweet. but i don't know anybody with it. i would go sealed.

stay with ported and get a jbl 1200.1 mono sub amp you need way more than 700 watts to move that sub iyt handlles 1500 rms. go tho hypaudio.com they have the amp for 250
