im gonna build a simple rectanglular box for my CC for my two pioneer tens, was gonna make a thunderform type box, but no one ever sits back ther, and when they do, they complain. so, the bottom seat cushions are gonna be gone, and im gonna simply put a relatively small box for 2 ten" woofers, and place the amp on top of the box. now, the "?" is, i have 2 small pioneer speakers, 5x7s, that arent doin ne things. can i cut a small hole in the 10" woofer box on each side for these to fit, they may be drowned out but will prolly make some sound, will the subwoofers mess them up in ne way at all? will this be a bad idea? im gonna stasrt this fri, and continue on till done to my taste, thanks for all opinions, and sorry for the moderatly long posting L8ER!!!!

The only problem I can see is if you do not seal off the area where you are installing the 5x7's the excessive pressure caused by the 10's my cause them do distort. I would recommend putting dividers in the box where the 5x7's will be. And also if possible run them through a crossover (a seperate amp or amp channels would be even better) so they do not see all of the low bass, let your subs take care of that. Sorry for the long post, Hope this helps.

Be careful if you mount your amp directly on the box. I did this and now my amp is starting to rattle a bit when the subs hit hard. If you can find a better place to mount it, I would. It will probably lengthen the life of your amp. I am trying to find somewhere else to mount mine, and unfortunatly, is too large to fit under the seat. I guess I will have to take up the entire back seat after all.

I did something like this, back when I owned a 92 caviler, I had a 2 12's with 6x9's all in one box. The 12's did distort the 6x9's, with very obnoxious rattles everytime they hit. I'm with ghstrdr1, separate with baffles, with xovers if you prefer. My guess is you just need to make sure you have enough space for your subs to perform(cubic feet etc.)For my box, I ended up building a new one for the 12's &6x9's to allow for required space using the subs. I built a similar box for my ranger, split the box up per eash sub/speaker, sealed with insulating foam, and it ricked. good luck

I use to have a Mazda car and installed two JL Audio 12w3 in the trunk, along with some 5x7s in the rear deck. The 5x7 got literally blown out of their baskets by the subs (LITERALLY). You will kill your little speakers on the first sub note. Be careful.

i apreciate the input y'all, i may seperate the 5x7s with baffles, or not use them at all, dont know yet, but, i took out the seat cushions today, and flipped the brackets down and out of the way, gonna store the cushions, and just use velcro on top of the tool tray, and under side of the box to keep it from slidin 'round, maybe i can sit the amp in the rear floor, or find a way to mount to the box, w/out rattling much, ne way, L8ER!!

Don't use the foam...not enough sealing. Build in a small sealed section into the box...3/4" mdf. In a truck you really don't need rear speakers if the fronts provide you with enough volume...better imaging! It's a personal choice though.
Good luck
