hey, i have a 01 ram 1500 with a 3.9....it has 160,000 hard miles on it.....what is the best thing i can do in stages to get more performance...i am a member of allpar forums

Just start reading trew the board there are many
things you can do to improve both performance
and gas mileage

3 easy and free mods

TPS voltage set to .75
this will improve throttle response

relocate IAT
remove from intake manifold and locate in air tube
6" from throttle body
this will change the reading from aprox 200 down
to aprox 120 degrees give you 1 to 2 degrees
timing advance and richen the fuel

crank sensor mod
remove, remove rubber gromit slot holes 3/8" and
move down towards oil filter
this will advance the timing 3 to 4 degrees and
give you more low end more power thru the entire
rpm range and really helps gas mileage

Theres 3 free bee's to get ya started

After you do these drop the heat range of the
spark plugs 1 range
NGK Vpower
FR4 stock heat
FR5 1 colder
gap .040

NAPA mo26 and mo28 cap and rotor solid brass
incerts

MSD 8.5mm plug wires

A good home made or any good cold air intake

a bigger throttle body
V8
fastman 46mm
F&B flowmetrics 48mm

The harland sharp 1.7 roller rocker arms

These last 2 all by themselfs will add 30 to 35
rear wheel hp

headers, highflow cat)s low restriction catback

MSD 6a ignition and an 8207 MSD coil if you
install this system you will need to open the
plug gap upto .055

on your 01 Bosch FMS 21# injectors

The jet stage 2 chips about 10 hp and better gas
mileage

superchips also offers a tunner for the 01 V6
