I have a '98 Dakota 4x4 and I am wondering what the largest tire is that I can fit on my stock Dakota?

From what i've heard...32"x11.5". Dbl-check though...I know the 31's fit.

I put 31's on my 98 a few weeks ago. Plenty of room. I figure I could probably fit 32's on it but am not sure. It does look like they'll fit though.

If you want to go with anything larger than a 31X10.5, measure VERY carefully. That's the size on mine, and I have no clearance problems. However, with the wheel cranked to lock (either direction), there appears to be very little extra room for larger tires. It might mean getting dirty, but crawl underneath and measure clearance against anything close to the tire at straight ahead, and both left and right lock. Then figure out how much larger the tires you want are. I say this from past experience...on a '94 Dak 2WD I used to have, I went simply from a 215 to a 225 width tire (same aspect ratio, same wheels), and got rubbing at both locks (against a flap covering a hole in the inner fender) AND when the suspension was at full compression (rubbed at the top of the wheel well - had the marks to prove it!). All that from 10mm (less than 1/2 inch).

I just put on 32 X 11.50....they fit fine. Small amount of rubbing on really tight turns, no harm to anything. Go for it!

I have been running 32x11.50's on my 2000 4x4 for a few years. Works fine with some very slight rubbing, but only on random occasions. Get them, you'll be happy you did, it looks much better. I run the BFG all-terrain tko's... excellent tire.
