I have ordered and will recieve my header kit from krc performance in 3 days. I have a 2001 R/T. As a few of you already know on our trucks like that we have 3 converters...well with this kit...you elmininate the first 2. My qustion is this. I also have the Gibson cat back single exhaust...just waiting for the headers to install. I was going to gut the 3 cat. Is this wise or should i leave it alone. I know too open of a system will slow you down. Like i said...i have the 3 inch single. Would it be smart the gut the third while i am at it?

Gut the 3rd cat or if they don't test in you're area just take it out .

I run headers and a 3" single exhaust with a Flowmaster and no cat on my Dakota and picked up power from idle to the rev limiter - I picked up 3 mph in the 1/8 over the stock manifolds , 2 1/2" single , no cat and Dynomax Ultra Flo.

Gutting the third cat or just removing it entirely doesn't mean you'll lose power. If you're truck is set up right, you'll gain power. Static backpressure isn't everything...

when u remove the precats and use a simm box, does this take care of the o2 sensors before and after the precats or just after?

The sim boxes take care of the rear 02 sensors only. You need the front 2 in to adjust your fuel and stuff like that...i think. I know for a fact that you do need to keep the front ones in though. With the kit that I bought from KRC Performance, they do slight modifactions to your headers that you buy. The make you a new y pipe with the pre cats removed and a spot to place your front o2 sensors in.
By the way the mods I have done so far are...
 K&N cold air induction
 M1 intake manifold
 Hypertech Power Programmer III
 Gibson 3 inch single catback
 These Mopar Performance Headers
 180 Thermostat
 Accell Extreme 9000 plug wires
 Accell cap and rotor
 Autolite 3923's
 Sythetic Rear End fluid
I run Castrol Syntec oil with a K&N oil filter
And in 2 months i will have a new throttle body and Roller Rockers. If anyone can sugjust a good throttle body I would appricate it. I was thinking eather Fastman or F&B?

thanks for the info, by the way, i keep hearing that F&B makes the better throttle body but it cost almost twice as much for maybe 3 or 4 more hp so its up to u. ill probably end up going wit the F&B just because.
