Is there any difference (other then the tires) in the ride hight between the 4x4 and the 4x2 2001 daks?

Yes, they have different suspensions. 2wd uses coil springs in the front with the rear axle above the leaf springs. A 4x4 utilizes torsion bars in the front with the rear axle below the springs. It gives them about a 2” of difference in ride height.
