Does anyone know where I can get seat covers for a 96 Dakota.. 60/40?? I can't find them anywhere! I know "Wetokel" makes them, but I really don't want to spend that much on seat covers! Any ideas?

Here is one that may be worth looking at..

I have purchased from here. In Hawaii, nearly everyone has these on their cars. You can buy a kind that is quilted and they fit easily and wear like iron and look good too.

I know that you think Wet Okoles are expensive and yes they are, but I just got a set for my truck and I love them! They are great and make for a very comfortable ride. The fit is amazing and they really act like a new seat once you get them installed. You can get the basic set for about 225, I got a Dakota logo added to mine for an extra 40. You can see pics of mine on my website!

Sorry, I can't be of much help with information on seatcovers for your Dakota, but I must say that I strongly agree with the others about the quality and look of the WetOkoles. Mine are only the universals and I hope one of these days very soon to upgrade to the custom fit ones for both front and back seats.

Bill, I think they have a special shampoo for neoprene that they sell. My Okoles are still clean, but when they get dirty I was going to check out a dive shop, plenty of them here on the Jersey shore. It might be cheaper to buy in a dive shop, dunno.

For cleaning my seat covers and wetsuits I use AquaSeal WetSuit & Dry Suit Shampoo. It is a cleaner and conditioner for all neoprene and watersports gear. It was only $4.95. In my opinion, the neoprene should be washed more often than when it is just looking dirty cause the conditioning will help keep the feel of the material nice and soft.

Between cleanings I highly highly recommend using the Silicone pump conditioner with UV inhibitors. It really helps condition and protect against color fading and sun damage. The sun can be the death to untreated neoprene. Using a windshield sun shade or parking cab of truck away from sun all helps.

I have had the same covers for over 5 years and they are still in pretty good condition.

Thanks for the info John and Julie! I guess I will be taking a trip to the local dive shop (if I can find one in the yellow pages, us midwesterners don't do a whole lot of that on a regular basis!!!!) and see what I find. I also think I am going to start using the sun shades a little more as I park my truck outside all day long while I work and usually it is very sunny on them. Thanks again for the tips!

 Bill,

If you can't find the shampoo and uv protector at a shop around you, I know that you can order it from WetOkole directly. There sell both in their shop in Costa Mesa, California where I bought mine, since they do mail orders I am sure they could ship it to you.

Also online surf and scuba shops that sell wetsuits should sell at least the shampoo. I bought the AquaSeal shampoo from a site called ebodyboarding.com and it turned out to be the exact same thing that I bought from WetOkole.

Hope this helps. From the Neoprene Geek!

If you go to www.wetokole.com and click on covers and then graphics, you can see all the different types of graphics that can be put on the covers. I didn't find the harley logo on there, but there are a lot of others, including the Dakota logo which I have.
