 does anyone know if theres any difference in the NV3500 tranny in the 2000 model v6s and the 2002 model v6s, im getting the hurst short throw n hurst says its for 2000s but they both have the same tranny, has anybody put the short throw in a 2002,

 There is no difference in the tranny. The difference is in 2001 the dashboard was changed. With 2001 and newer trucks the dashboard interferes with the shifter in its forward positions.
 
 This is an easily solved problem. You just have to fabricate a 1/4 spacer to go between the shifter and the tranny. Search here (mark.dodgedakotas.com), and at www.dodgetrucks.org, and at www.dakota-durango.com. There is plenty of info to find for exactly what you need to do to make it work.

 It's not the dash, it's the base on the shifter where it mounts to the tranny. I have one on my truck. I can dig up the thread on it if your interested.
