 Subject: trans dropping out of OD

I have a 99 r/t that was victim of a hit and run to the front right side. Everything appeared to be fixed correctly, but now after driving at highway speeds my trans downshifts out of OD as soon as i let up off the throttle. after i shut the engine off for awhile and restart it ...the problem seems to disappear. Any ideas? i need to get this taken care of quick if insurance will cover it.
