I looked at another guys dyno on it and it shows a peak HP increase of 56 and torque increase of about the same. The increase in power starts at approx 3600 rpms, under that your numbers are basically the same as the kegger.

O yes the MPG, I have not noticed any loss or gain in gas mileage since adding any of my modifications: M1, Flashed PCM, Headers, Cat, Exhaust, K&N, TB, etc. Since day one my gas light comes on at 240 miles like clock work.

Thanks R/Truck. Do you have a link or something where I can see the dyno run you mentioned? I would like to see gains/ losses throughout the entire powerband. Do you know what other mods that guy had that made 56 hp. That seems like a pretty high number for intake alone.

Actually the more mods you have the more it will help, the factory manifold starts to be the bottleneck. I think it's good for 25 HP on a stock motor, and even more with mods. It doesn't really make the truck pull harder, just pull longer which is why a big HP increase with little torqe improvement.

I just installed one on a '99 Club Cab - 318/A500/3.55 , it's mostly stock except for a dumped Ultra Flow , no cat and a 3" intake tube with a K&N cone filter. I was shocked that the bottom end is much stronger as well as the top, it's hard to take off now without frying the tires. Leaving from an idle it used to spin for about 5-10 feet and now it will spin for about 40 feet , I tried leaving at about 1,200 against the brakes and it spun all the way through first and bounced off the rev limiter in second. Next modification is going to be a MP computer to take advantage of the added RPM range.

I have a dyno on it, it was on an R/T with lots of other modifications. The M1 will produce it's most power when you have better intake and exhaust (TB, Headers, etc.). With out I think your gains will be 1/2 that, so Hersbird is correct. Without the other modification you will only notice the power in the high rpm range, however I noticed more power throughout.

How about posting links for the sites that these intakes are on for the rest of the folks out there (just for the sake of posting it). I for one would certainly appreciate it.

Yes the M1 is a stock replacement, however you have to modify a few things. There is a kit you buy along with the M1 that includes all the parts, and it really isn't that hard to install. Just set aside some time for the install, it takes anywhere from 2-10 hours depending upon your speed.

I just raced this weekend with the M1 and gained 1 mph in the 1/4 Mile and dropped a tenth.
The only other mods I have are PPH headers, MSD digital 6, Electric fan, 180 therm., IAT adjustor and slicks. FYI

1.7s/PPH 230 320 Stock exhaust!
52mm F&B/
K&N GENII
PCM 240 340 Throttle response!
Flowmaster 40 240 340 Sounded good!
M1-4bbl/MSD6A 256 316 Lost peak torque
but much wider torque
curve.
Crower CAM/
RT 1.92 heads 283 325 5400 RPM peak for HP
3800 RPM peak for TQ

Ran at Tucson's SIR this past weekend for the RT Nationals--- heat/alt not a good mix for this truck, plus a nasty collector gasket leak/cracked headers don't help. Ran MUCH better once in cooler temps & lower elevation-- Going to run it at the LOCAL track July 9th to see if I can beat my 14.3 @ 96 mph.

i have a 2000 dakota rt, long tube mp headers, no kat, m1 4bbl inake with 4 bbl throtle body i have been running it for about three months now and have never got i to idle under 3000 rpms, i went to a dodge delear and was told to change the wireing on my throle position sensor pins 1 and 3
it lower the rpm to about 1500 but will not go lower. no check engine light no code present, is there any mod that can lower the rpms anymore. please let me know, i had to install a 2500 stall so i could stop spinning tire at stops at red lights. thanks.

Sam, how much does your rig weigh?

Dan, I have a similar set up. The idle came right down after the wire switch and resetting the PCm.
The TPS may need attention. Try the reset and let me know how it runs.

This is a year old thread-- hehe.

The truck, no tailgate, 5-6 gallons of gas, 10# NX bottle *full*, and my fat butt in it = 4040#

I have run a 13.98@99.6 and a 14.00@100 on the setup NA.

I have run a 12.52@110 on a 150 shot of N20 :)

my truck is stock weight but it also has a sprayed in bed liner and a fiberglass bed cover.
it also has a gts2 hood from elite customs. i also replaced the tps sensor and had it recalibrated. did not fix problem. me and the tech
found that the 4 bbl rotates in counter clock wise
and the stock 2bbl rotate clock wise which makes the sensor read rong. i told him that the wire were switched all rady so we switched them back like stock and the rpms went to 3000. so we switched them back. it went to 1500. but the sensor readings did not change. he called a mp performance dealer that installs anything in the mp catalog, and they said they have never herd of anyone installing the 4bbl m1 and throtle body, they just install the 4bbl intake and use the 2bbl
adapter that comes with intake. he said thats the way they install them because no one wants to spend the extra money for the throtle body. i'm trying to get these problems fixed while i still have the stock engine in my truck because i'm about to buy the mp 402 stroker for my truck since i just broke 120,000 miles on it.

That's an interesting story. I didn't encounter
that problem, but here are a couple items to
check.
Did you reset the computer?
are you using the MP performance computer? I
haven't tried the stock one, but mine works
great with the MP unit.
Did you adjust the front throttle blades to be
only .005-.010 open for idle?
are the rear blades open too far?
what is the voltage from the TPS at idle? For
street you may want to reduce to .6-.8v.
Verify the idle air motor is working. The gasket
may need trimmed between the TB base and the
manifold to allow the idle air passage to be
open to the plenum. Same for the MAP passage.
Verify the linkage is not binding on the fuel
rail. Mine required a 1" spacer.

i have a mp computer, i have had the tps recalibrated with the new computer, the front and
rear plates are completely closed, do they need to be opened to .005-.010 to idle. i dont know what the voltage is at this time but i will check to make sure. when i was going to work this today the check ingine light came on. one of the guys i work with has a snap on code scanner. but i cant remeber the code. i just remeber it was set for the tps. i called the dodge dealer and asked them about the code and they told me to change the wires around again but when i went to take the plug apart to switch the wire i broke the plug. i have another wire harness from one of my friends truck that burned in a fire. its an older truck but the tps is the same. can you tell me which wires go in which sockets for our setups i took the wires out an can't remember because im so pissed at ny truck. i will check the gasket tomorow to see if the port are blocked. i have a 1 inch spacer plus a 3/4 inch nitrous express hitman plate on intake, none of my linkages are binding. i will check the gaskets and tps voltage
and let you know tomorow night some time.

Why fight the 4bbl, when you can run a 55x52 F&B with the 2bbl adapter and be done with it??? No tuning issues...
