I have another problem with my 2000 Dakota. The blower works on high, but not on any other setting. The air and heat both work fine. I either get real hot or real cold. It seems like the bottom blower is also not functioning.

Checked all the fuses and reset the computer. Any help would be much appreciated.

Joe

Joe;
That's an easy one. My '93 was doing the same thing when I bought it in 2000. The cure is simple: Replace the motor resistor assembly. Open the hood, and look on the side of the firewall between the engine and the fender. You'll see what looks like a terminal strip with an electrical connector plugged into it. It is held to the firewall, more specifically the fresh air inlet, with two hex-head sheet metal screws. The resistor assembly was less than $10 when I bought it, and it took 5 minutes to change it.
Happy heating!

Dan,

Thank you so much, well my Dad thanks you!

He was about three days short of taking the truck ('97)in to change the heater core.

Thats when I came upon your instructions. It was so easy that when he seen what I was doing, he said theres no way it will throw heat just by doin that!

Well sure enough he was wrong and you were right.
He said to make sure and tell who ever was responsible for this tip, that he was VERY thankful.

He told me he saved $585.00 ....thats what they were going to charge him.

I said he saved $584.00....he owed me a buck for the hose adapter!

Anyway thaks again............Mike.

Split what you saved and add a cat back exhaust. That could save some more by better gas mileage. Good luck
