Thanks! I've just asked a lot of questions.
There are several options for TBs, I just went
with the stock V8 TB. It's 50mm tapered down
to 48mm, and I found a huge increase in
throttle response. Or - you could go with a
ported Fastman, in which case you get the
gains but without having to upgrade to a V8 TB
cable.
For my project 360, I bought a 52mm ported
Fastman V8, which matched up with a set of
ceramic JBA shorties, should let it breathe
pretty good.
stealwings - I haven't gotten any roller rockers
yet -I'm thinking of doing that maybe next year.
I hope to get my engine swap done by the end
of summer now that I finally have all the parts.
I still have to paint and assemble it.

97 3.9 CC Sport. JBA stainless headers, Borla Turbo XL stainless muffler & tip, 17 x10 Boyd Coddington Smoothies, FMS injectors, V8 TB, Quick D intake,
Not installed: 5.9 litre 360, posi & 3.92s, M1 2bbl , 52mm billet TB, ceramic JBAs. , KRC cam, mopar perf valve covers & air cleaner

I'm surprised you didn't go with the 4.7 instead. From what everyone is saying, it's suppose to be a little quicker than the 5.9. Keep us up to date on how it goes.

Wouldn't want any other!

Lesley and Stealwings582,

Thanx for everything, I think im going to go ahead and get those jba headers and the flowmasters, then save up and get the v8 TB's you were talking about, and see what happens from there

I've got JBA ceramics on my 2002 V6. I installed them mainly just to get rid of the heavy stock manifolds and do a pre-emptive strike on the problem that Dakotas seem to have with breaking manifold studs off at the head. I didn't want to have to deal with that. If I undergo hypnosis, and think real hard, I might actually convince myself that the headers have improved performance. I've also got a Dynomax 17748 Super Turbo on the truck. It sounds nice at idle, but there is NOTHING that'll make a magnum V6 sound like a V8...it won't happen. Your truck will never sound like a 4.6 Mustang V8, no matter what you put on it. It might sound OK to you and you might be happy with it, but it won't sound like a V8.

Stealwings582, if you're interested in some Crower 1.7 rockers, I have a brand new, uninstalled set for a 3.9 that I'd sell for $315 shipped. Don't want to go any lower than that...I paid $350 for them, and they're still in the box in their plastic wrappers. lfavand@swbell.net if you're interested.

Sounds good on the RR, Pistolero. Money is always a factor but I'll put you on my address book and hopefully you'll still have them in a month or so. On the headers actually I changed mine out for the same reason, broken studs on both sides. But with the flowmaster 50 series and a little break in time, my truck sounds better than my buddies 350 Chevy. Everyone thinks I have a V-8 and I'm not B.S.'s you. I was impressed.

Wouldn't want any other!

Stealwings, thanks for the response. Just shoot me an email when you think you might be ready for the rockers...I'll probably still have them, unless I decide to go ahead and install them, after all.

You might've found the magical combination that makes the V6 sound respectable! I'm not really unhappy about the way my Dynomax sounds, especially at idle, but it's just not a V8. Live and learn! Have a great week!...P

The Borla sounds pretty healthy. Not loud, but a nice deep rumble.

As far as I know there's only two choices in headers...

Gibson chromes
Jba's nickle, or coated

exhaust --- lots

I'm thinking about gibson extreme dual where two pipes come out ride under corners of bumper... Others will advise to stay with single due to backpressure and torque issues...
