Hi,
Just curious if someone could help me out with this... I have a 2002 quad cab 4x4 with the stock Goodyear Wrangler RT/S 265/70r16's... I'd like to move up to bigger tires, but don't want to put in a lift kit (right now)... What are the biggest tires I can get on this truck? I really like the BFG AT/ko's....

Currently running Cooper Discover S/T 265/75 R16 and get a small amount of rubbing at half turn. Especially in reverse.
I gotta dump this ugly bumper/cover and get a REAL bumper.

Grrr... thanks for the reply, although I guess it wasn't what I wanted to hear... Do you think 275/70r16 will rub? The width is ok, but I'd like to fill the wheel wells out a little more...

I fit 265/75 16s Bridgestone Duellar AT EVOC on my 2001 Dakota and got no rub and they actually look pretty mean on the truck

I'm curious about the same thing. I'd like to get a set of the BFG AT's but I'd like to get a tire that's a little bit wider. Not bigger diameter wise, just wider. Like a 295 or something. These will fit with no rub I assume?

I was talking to a buddy of mine who has 1999 Dakota with 15" wheels, and he said he fit 31x10.5's on his with no trouble... the problem that now presents itself is how does 31x10.5 translate into 265/70r16 or whatever the numbers might be?

as far as my understanding goes 265/75R16 is 31.5x 10.5

I'm running 31x11.5x16 Super Swamper LTBs with a torsion bar levelling and no rub, even with 4 adults in the truck. BFG AT 32x11.5x15 will fit with no rub. A friend of mine has them.

Just ordered the BFG All Terrain T/A ko's in 275/70r16 (31.3x10.8)... I'll try to get some pics up as soon as they come in... thanks for all the help...

i have a 99 dakota 4x4 with the 3.9 v6. i want to put 31x10.5 bfg mud terrains, will they fit alrght with out any rubbing? and does a torsoin bar lift ruin alot? id appreciate your help thanx -mac

I used to have a 98... it came stock with 31 10.5's so I would think yould be fine. They changed the suspension in 00... between the 2 slts i owened atleast

31/10.5 x 15 is the largest you can go. There may be some slight rubbing of the inside wall at the front of the frame when turning hard, but it should only be enough to wear rthe paint off...not cause damage. I couldn't even hear mine, just saw a shiny spot on the frame. Then I lifted it (Trailmaster suspension & 2" body lift) put Glassworks fenders on and now clear 33/10.5 x 15s. Have owned it since new and had the mods done for over 10 years now.

Sorry for bumping this thread but im trying to figure out whats
exactly on my dakota now I have a 2002 quad cab 4.7 dakota
4x4 second owner. its got 33in nitto grabbers on it now and I
dont know how to tell if its got a lift kit installed or not I got it in
a craigslist trade and lost contact with the first owner. He
never mentioned a lift kit but how else would 33s fit without
rubbing?
