 Subject: CTM - Central Timing Module

Anyone know where I can buy a Central Timing Module for an 01 QC 5.9L Dakota? Had mine replaced at " my local 5 star dealer" 13 months ago. Low and Behold......it went again. I called up and , big shocker, has a 12 month warranty on it.
Why must dealers insist on sticking it to people every chance they get??
If anyone has an inside line on where to buy them please advise.

if anyone with half a brain knows if CTM's are available anywhere other than dealers...thanks for the info!
and it appears today that the CTM is functioning..
maybe i have a ground or other problem...

What does the Central Timing Module or Body Control Module Control? I am curious. If this part is going bad would it cause the battery to drain and go dead? I have been having a problem with battery drain, power seats working intermitantly, power windows only working half the time and the dash light flickering. I have had my 02 Dakota at 4 different shops and nobody can find anything wrong.

the CTM controls the body lights, power locks, etc
my symptom is always the drivers side light out and the drivers side door doesn't work (keyless or on the door)
battery drain may be a different issue but I bet all these electrical issues stem from common problems.

I ordered a CTM from my local Dodge Dealer this morning for $104 dollars + tax. It should be in tommorrow.

I put in a new CTM this morning, and now my Remote Door Locks don't work. I was informed that this may happen. I tried the reprogram method given to me but that didn't work. Does anyone know the correct procedure to reprogram the Remote Locks to work or should I take it to the DEALER?

Yep a $104.00 delivered to my door. They list out for $189.00. I bought it through a Jeep Dealer, but they can get Dodge Parts. I called a local Dodge Dealer and they wanted $169.00. So I shopped around.

HEY ME - HAD THE SAME THING GOING ON WITH THE CTM AND ONCE REPLACED THE REMOTE LOCKS WOULDN'T WORK. U CANNOT REPROGRAM THESE URSELF. U NEED TO HAVE THE DEALER CLEAR THE CODES AND THEY CAN DO IT FOR YOU. CHEEP AND THEY SHOULD DO THIS FREE. ALSO HAD A THING WITH MY FAN ONLY WORKING ON LOW OR HIGH NOT IN THE INTERMEDIATE SETTINGS... WAS THE RESISTOR BLOCK UP UNDER THE GLOVE BOX AND THAT WAS IN EXPENSIVE AS WELL (2 SCREWS).... FYI
